What we collect, why, and how to get it removed. In plain English.
This is a plain-English notice covering how this website handles data. It is not legal advice, and if you need something more formal for a procurement or vendor review, ask and we will provide it.
Who we are

What we collect
- When you enquire. Your name, email, and whatever you tell us about the job. We use it to reply and to quote. Nothing else.
- When you join the mailing list. Your email address, until you unsubscribe.
- When you browse. Anonymous usage data through Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, described below.
Cookies and analytics
We use two measurement tools, both configured to tell us about patterns rather than people:
- Google Analytics 4 — page views, which pages lead to enquiries, roughly where visitors come from. IP addresses are anonymised by Google. Event data is kept for 14 months, then deleted automatically.
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymised heatmaps and session replays, so we can see which parts of a page are confusing. Text you type into forms is masked.
Both set cookies in your browser. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time, and the site will still work. We do not run advertising or re-targeting cookies.
Who else sees it
Only the suppliers who run the plumbing: Google (analytics), Microsoft (Clarity), Amazon Web Services (hosting and enquiry email) and our email provider. They process data on our instructions. We do not pass your details to anyone else.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and quotes are kept for as long as we might reasonably need them for the job and our records, and then deleted. Analytics event data expires after 14 months. Mailing list entries last until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email studio@granary.digital and we will sort it out. If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we would rather you told us first so we can fix it.

Questions we get asked
Do you sell my data?
No. We do not sell, rent or share your details with anyone for marketing. Enquiry details are used to answer your enquiry and nothing else.
How do I get my data deleted?
Email studio@granary.digital and ask. We will delete what we hold and confirm, normally within a few days and always within a month.
Do you use session recording?
Yes. Microsoft Clarity records anonymised session replays (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling) so we can see where the site confuses people. It masks text input by default and we do not use it to identify individuals.
