The away-day that produces something
Most off-site venues are not built to film in: the acoustics fight you, the lighting is wrong, and a separate crew has to truck kit in. Granary Digital is a working studio that also hosts events — so you run the session in the Grain Hopper and walk out with finished content shot in the cove, the green screen or the podcast suite next door.
What a filmed off-site looks like here
- Morning session and discussion in the Grain Hopper.
- Leadership films, a recorded panel, or talking-head clips shot in the studios.
- A podcast episode for internal or external comms, recorded multi-camera.
- In-house crew and event AV — no separate production company to truck in.
Why a heritage barn
A 16th-century barn gives an away-day the character and distance from the office that makes people think differently — and, because it is also a studio, it brings cameras, lighting, sound and editing on site. One building, one invoice. Read the guide to heritage venues for filmed events.

Questions we get asked
How far is it from London?
About 90 minutes from Waterloo by road, often less from Gatwick — close enough that London teams arrive fresh.
Can you film the day?
Yes. The studios and in-house crew are on the same site, so the away-day and the content happen in one place, on one invoice.
What can we record?
Leadership films, recorded panels, talking-head clips for internal comms, recruitment footage, or a podcast episode in the podcast suite.
Where does the discussion happen?
In the Grain Hopper, a private, heated, wheelchair-accessible events and meeting room.
Is parking easy?
Yes — fifteen on-site spaces and ground-level access.
