When they need a real stage rather than a meeting room with a backdrop, the reflex is London, with London day rates, London parking and the M25 in both directions.

The London reflex, and why it is expensive
Surrey teams needing a real stage tend to look north first. That means the M25, a London day rate, a loading bay booked by the hour and a crew that bills travel from a postcode you are paying a premium for. It is the default because it is familiar, not because it is efficient.

About an hour down the A3 and then over the Downs to Adsdean near Chichester. Godalming, Farnham and Haslemere are all closer.
Why not just go into London?
From most of Surrey the drive time is similar and everything else is worse: rates, parking, load-in. Here the van parks at the door and the rate card is regional.
