The AI Studio
Your expertise, working when you are not
We turn what you know into a governed AI operation: your voice recorded to broadcast standard, a knowledge base built from everything you have already said, an agent that talks to your customers, and a content engine that publishes in your voice. Built and run from a working studio, for a small number of organisations at a time.

In short: The AI Studio is Granary Digital's flagship AI service for organisations that sell expertise. It starts with a two-day AI Strategy Intensive (£7,500 +VAT), continues with a twelve-week Build (from £45,000 +VAT) that delivers a consented voice clone, a knowledge engine, a website voice agent, a content engine and one flagship product, and can be run on a Partner retainer from £6,500 a month. It is delivered from a working broadcast studio near Chichester, West Sussex.
One recording, a month of content.
Most AI projects stall at the demo. The difference is engineering.
By now most leadership teams have seen the demo: a chatbot that answers in a slightly odd tone, a cloned voice that sounds fine for ten seconds, a stack of AI-written posts nobody is quite brave enough to publish. Then the project goes quiet, because nobody owns the boring parts. Where the source material comes from. Who checks the output. What happens when the model says something wrong to a customer.
Those boring parts are where our work has always been. Granary Digital is a production studio run by a broadcast engineer, and broadcast is an industry that lives or dies on signal quality, checking before transmission and knowing exactly what goes out under your name. We apply the same habits to AI.
We also had to prove it on ourselves first. The voice agent on this site, the audio course on our Academy, the content we publish every week and the motion graphics on our films all run on the systems described below. You can try the agent now, at the bottom right of this page.
Six parts, one operation
Your voice, captured properly
A recording day in our podcast studio, engineered for cloning rather than for listening: treated room, broadcast microphones, scripted coverage of your vocabulary and range. With your signed consent, that becomes a voice model good enough for courses, explainers and audio replies. Optional on-camera capture for presenter likeness.
A knowledge engine
Everything you have already said, in one governed place. Podcasts, talks, webinars, proposals and course material are transcribed, cleaned, tagged and structured so that every other system answers from your thinking, not from the open internet.
An agent on your website
Text and voice, answering questions in your tone, qualifying enquiries, checking availability and passing warm leads to a person with the conversation attached. Usage caps, an approved knowledge base and a clear hand-off when it does not know.
A content engine
A scheduled pipeline that turns each recording or idea into a week of posts, clips, newsletters and articles in your voice, then stops at a human approval step. Nothing publishes itself. The rules it follows are written down and yours to change.
One flagship product
A paid audio course, a member resource or a lead-generating guide, built from material you already own and narrated with your voice model where you choose. We did this with our own six-month course, assembled from a podcast back catalogue.
Governance you can show a board
Consent records, disclosure wording, a data map, a review process and a named owner for every system. The document your legal team, your insurer and your clients will eventually ask for, written at the start rather than after an incident.

How the twelve weeks run
- Weeks 1 to 2, foundations. Accounts set up in your name, consent signed, back catalogue gathered and transcribed, governance agreed.
- Weeks 3 to 4, capture. Your voice day in the studio, optional on-camera capture, and the first voice model tested against your own recordings.
- Weeks 5 to 7, the engines. Knowledge engine built and tested, then the website agent and content engine on top of it, each run in a closed trial first.
- Week 6, halfway review. You see everything working on your own material and change direction if you need to.
- Weeks 8 to 11, the flagship. Your product scripted, recorded or generated, checked line by line, mastered and put on sale or in front of members.
- Week 12, handover. Training for your team, a written runbook for every system, and a launch plan for the first month.
Built on ourselves first
We do not have client case studies to publish yet, so here is the next best thing: the same systems, running on our own business, where you can check them.
“Ask the studio”
The voice and text agent on every page of this site answers questions about spaces, rates and kit, checks the live diary and hands enquiries to us with the conversation attached. It has daily caps and a knowledge base we control.
An audio course from a back catalogue
Our six-month course on creativity was assembled from podcast conversations, scripted, voiced with a presenter's cloned voice under a written permission, checked and mastered. Every listener is told which parts are synthetic.
A weekly content engine
A scheduled pipeline prepares a week of posts, Stories and short films for our channels, checks each against our brand and truth rules, and waits for a person to approve it before anything goes out.
Motion and pages in code
Our logo stings, lower thirds and landing pages are generated from code and brand rules, so a new campaign takes hours rather than weeks and always matches the brand.
Who leads it
The AI Studio is led by James Jones, who runs Granary Digital and has worked in live broadcast engineering for more than twenty years: vision mixing, signal flow, streaming and the systems behind them. He built the AI estate this page describes, and he is on every Build from the first call to the handover.
Production is done by the same crew who work the barn every week: engineers, editors, camera operators and producers. That is the practical reason we take on only a few Builds at a time. Each one includes days in the studio, and the studio has a diary.
Who it is not for
If you need an enterprise data platform, a custom-trained model or an AI policy for a regulated trading floor, we will tell you on the first call and point you to people who do that. The AI Studio is for organisations whose most valuable asset is what their people know and how they say it.
Start with a conversation, not a contract
Tell us a little about the organisation and what you want AI to do for it. James reads every application himself and replies within two working days, either with times for a call or with an honest note that we are the wrong people.

Questions we get asked
Who is the AI Studio for?
Organisations whose value sits in what their people know and how they say it: consultancies, training and coaching firms, professional services practices, membership bodies, charities with expert voices, and founders who are the brand. If you have a back catalogue of talks, podcasts, courses or client material, the Build has plenty to work from.
Why would a production studio do AI strategy?
Because most of what makes AI output good or bad is media engineering. A voice clone is only as good as the recording it was trained on, an agent is only as good as the knowledge you give it, and a content engine is only as good as its editorial checks. We have spent more than twenty years on broadcast engineering, and we built every system on this page for our own business first.
Is my voice or likeness used without me knowing?
No. Nothing is cloned without a signed consent record that says what it can be used for, where, and for how long. Every place a synthetic voice appears carries a disclosure, and you can withdraw consent and have the model deleted. We wrote that rule for our own Academy before we offered it to anyone else.
Which AI tools do you use?
Whichever suit the job and your data rules. Our own estate runs on Claude for writing and agents, ElevenLabs for voice, and a mix of automation and video tools. The roadmap from the Intensive names the stack for you, with running costs, and you own every account.
What does it cost to run afterwards?
Software subscriptions typically run to a few hundred pounds a month, paid directly by you. The Intensive gives you a costed figure before you commit to the Build. The Partner retainer is optional: plenty of teams take the handover and run it themselves.
What happens to our data?
It stays in accounts you own, with tools whose data terms you have approved. We document what each system can see, where it is stored and who can switch it off, and that document is part of the handover.
Can we just buy the strategy?
Yes. The Intensive stands on its own and the roadmap is yours to take to any supplier. If you book the Build within 60 days, the Intensive fee comes off it.
Is the Build fixed price?
The price is fixed once the scope is agreed at the end of the Intensive. Payments are staged across the twelve weeks: 40% on signing, 30% at the halfway review and 30% on handover.
