Sets built where they get shot

An in-house construction team and a stage twenty metres from the workshop. The set is standing before your crew arrives.

The case for building

Locations are cheap until they aren't. The cottage you found has no parking, no power and a neighbour with a leaf blower. A built set gives the director every angle, the gaffer every rigging point and the producer a schedule that holds. The 360° blackout makes the studio walls disappear; the set becomes the world.

How it works

  1. Brief. Reference images, dimensions, dates. A storyboard helps but a sketch on a napkin has worked before.
  2. Quote. Build, materials, stage hire and strike, priced as one job.
  3. Build. The team constructs and dresses on the stage, with photos sent as it goes up.
  4. Shoot. Your crew walks onto a standing set. Changes happen on the spot.
  5. Strike. We take it down and the stage is clear the next morning.
Pricing is per build, driven by materials and days. Send the reference and we will come back within two working days. studio@granary.digital

Seen on

The cottage interior built for a national broadcaster is the one people ask about: practical throughout, shot over multiple days, struck in one. We keep client names off the site as a courtesy, and we are happy to talk specifics when you visit.

Ready when you are

Availability and a firm quote, usually same day. No pressure, no hard sell.

Questions we get asked

What have you built?

A full cottage interior for a national broadcaster, with practical doors, windows and dressed walls. An underground well for a materials manufacturer. Chat show sets, kitchen sets for cooking formats, and plenty of simple flats and cycs in between.

Why build at the studio rather than ship a set in?

Transport is where set budgets die. Building on site means no artic, no de-rig at a workshop, no damage in transit, and changes can happen the same day the director asks for them.

How do I get a price?

Send reference images, rough dimensions and the shoot dates. We come back with a build quote, a build schedule and the stage hire as one number.

Can you age and dress the set?

Yes. Aged surfaces, set dressing and props are part of the service, and SFX makeup artists from the crew network handle anything that needs to look worse than it is.
