Booking a studio for it changes what the audience remembers. You arrive with your notes and a clean shirt; the engineer has the platform link tested, the camera framed, the light flattering and the sound broadcast-grade. Your end is also recorded locally in full quality, so the appearance becomes clips for your own channels instead of vanishing into someone else's archive.

The setup
The room and the chain. Shure broadcast microphones through a Dante-networked digital desk, recorded straight into the DAW with an engineer on the desk. The room is double-insulated and acoustically foam-tiled throughout, so what reaches the file is the voice and nothing else.
You do not have to be in the room. We run directed sessions on Source-Connect Pro, the standard agencies and post houses use, and on Cleanfeed, Riverside and Zoom where a browser link is easier for everyone. A director, client or producer anywhere can hear every take as it happens and redirect on the spot, over a proper mix-minus feed so they are heard and you never hear yourself. Your end is recorded locally at full quality, so the file never depends on the connection.

What a mix-minus is, and why it matters to you. When you appear on someone else's programme you need to hear them, and you must not hear yourself. If your own voice comes back to you even a fraction of a second late, speaking through it is close to impossible: you lose the thread of sentences you know perfectly well. A mix-minus is the feed that solves this, sending you the programme audio with your own voice removed. Studios build for it. Laptops and spare rooms do not, which is why so many remote guests sound like they are struggling. Ours is configured and tested before you sit down.
And for genuine broadcast contribution we have an SRT encoder and IFB talkback, so a gallery can cue you in your ear on a live hit. If you are being asked for a down-the-line rather than a video call, say so when you book and we will set the chain up accordingly. If you would rather rehearse before doing it for real, that is media training.

What platforms can you connect to?
Whatever the host uses. Zoom, Teams, Riverside, Cleanfeed and the rest all run over the studio fibre, and for broadcast and professional voice work we run Source-Connect Pro and an SRT encoder with IFB talkback. You arrive, sit down, and the engineer has the link tested before your call time.
What does it cost?
From £39/hour +VAT with an engineer. Block rates apply for media days with several appearances back to back. Full podcast production is priced separately at podcast.granary.digital.
Why not just do it from home?
Because you are the thumbnail. A guest with broadcast audio, a lit 4K picture and no dropped connection is remembered as more credible than one apologising for the doorbell, and podcast guesting is increasingly how professionals get found.
Can you record our end as a backup?
Yes. The studio captures your audio and video locally in full quality, so even if the host's platform compresses you, there is a clean master of your side for clips and reuse.
Can I run my own webinar from the studio?
Yes. Hosting works the same way as guesting, with the engineer managing the platform while you present, and the autocue available if you are working from a script. Bigger productions move into our live-streaming studio next door.
