How much does a corporate video cost? A studio's breakdown

The room is rarely the big number. Here is how a corporate film adds up from our published rates, with three worked examples you can hold any quote against.

A corporate video shot in a day at a studio like ours usually comes to anything from about £1,500+VAT to upwards of £5,600+VAT once the room, the crew and the edit are added up. That range comes from the three worked examples below, each built from the rates we publish. They are illustrations, not quotes. Your film has its own shot list, and the shot list sets the price.

The first thing to know is that the room is the smallest line. Our White Space infinity cove is £295+VAT for a four-hour half day and £395+VAT for a ten-hour full day. The Green Space, a pre-lit green screen stage with its own autocue, is from £40+VAT an hour, £140+VAT for a half day or £260+VAT for an eight-hour day. What moves a budget is how many people stand around the camera, and how many days someone spends editing afterwards.

Four lines make up every quote

Ours or anyone's, a corporate video quote is built from the same parts.

  • The room, booked in blocks. Why blocks, and why the full day is usually the better buy, is covered in our studio hire cost guide.
  • Crew, by the day. Our indicative rates are spark from £350+VAT, editor from £395+VAT, camera operator or gaffer from £450+VAT, sound recordist from £495+VAT, director of photography from £575+VAT and director from £750+VAT.
  • The edit, usually counted in editor days.
  • Anything built, hired in or licensed: a set, specialist fixtures, music, animation.

Our crew rates are based on a standard ten-hour day, the same length as a White Space full day, so one day of room and one day of each person line up neatly on paper.

Example one: a presenter on autocue, on green screen

Say your head of compliance needs six short explainers to camera, read from a script, with slides dropped in behind her in the edit. That is a Green Space job. The stage is pre-lit and the autocue is built in, so there is no gaffer on the invoice and nobody spends the first hour rigging lamps.

  • Green Space, full day: £260+VAT
  • One camera operator: £450+VAT
  • Editor, two days to key the background and cut six pieces: £790+VAT

That comes to £1,500+VAT. The line to protect is the script. Send it ahead and it is loaded before the presenter arrives. Rewrite it on the floor and every change costs time: the autocue is updated, the presenter relearns the rhythm, and whoever signs it off has to read it again. How many pieces a day like this can realistically produce is in how many videos can you film in a day.

Example two: an interview film on the cove

A founder and two customers, interviewed on the White Space with two cameras, lit properly, with a director asking the questions.

  • White Space, full day: £395+VAT
  • Director: £750+VAT
  • Director of photography: £575+VAT
  • Camera operator on the second angle: £450+VAT
  • Gaffer: £450+VAT
  • Sound recordist: £495+VAT
  • Editor, three days: £1,185+VAT

That is £4,300+VAT, and £2,720+VAT of it is the crew on the day. There is room to trim. On a simple interview look a DoP can often light it without a gaffer, because the house rig is already hanging on the grid, which takes £450+VAT off. Ask us whether your look needs one before you cut it.

If the "interview" is really a conversation, look at Content in a Day at £1,395+VAT. It is a fixed price for one fully edited video podcast episode, ten retouched headshots and six captioned social cuts of 30 to 60 seconds, covering two people on camera and delivered within a week.

Example three: a brand film with a built set

A brand film with a proper crew and something built for it to happen in.

  • White Space, full day: £395+VAT
  • Director, DoP, camera operator, gaffer, spark and sound recordist: £3,070+VAT
  • A custom set build: from £600+VAT
  • Editor, four days: £1,580+VAT

That is from about £5,645+VAT. "From" is doing real work there, because a set can be two painted flats or it can be the cottage interior built on our cove for a Channel 4 drama, which took five days to build and dress with a six-person crew. Our set building team has also built an underground well on the stage for a materials manufacturer. Those are very different lines on a quote.

At this size, ask for our Signature Production to be priced alongside the itemised version. It starts from £4,950+VAT and packages a fuller crew, a hero brand film and one signature element, which can be the set build. Which comes out lower depends on the brief, so get both numbers. The content studio page lays out the packaged days side by side.

What pushes the number up

All of these are normal. They cost least when they're decided early.

  • Script changes on the day. The cheapest place to rewrite a line is a document a week before the shoot.
  • Locations. Every move means packing, travelling, unpacking and lighting again. Travel from the studio is shown on the quote, so you can see the cost of each move before you commit to it.
  • Animation. It is made after the shoot, on its own schedule, so it is a separate line with its own timeline. Know whether you want it before you write the script, because the script changes if you do.
  • Music. A licensed track is its own line, and the licence decides where the film may run. Settle it before the edit, not after everyone has fallen for a track the budget can't reach.
  • Versions. A 16:9 master, a vertical cut, a 30-second teaser and subtitled copies are each editor time.
  • Approval rounds. Every round of changes is more editor time. Two people with sign-off cost less than six.

Corporate work here runs from presenter pieces for internal comms to an aircraft delivery system explainer for an international spill-response organisation, and the pattern holds across all of it: the more that is decided before the day, the less the day costs. If you work for an agency and want this under your own name, our agency and white-label rates are on application. Everything else is on the rate card, and the corporate video page covers the room itself.

If you have a script or a shot list, send it to studio@granary.digital and we'll turn it into a real number.

Questions we get asked

How much does a corporate video cost?

Built from our published rates, a one-day presenter shoot on the green screen with a camera operator and two days of edit comes to about £1,500+VAT, and a two-camera interview film on the cove with a full crew and three days of edit is about £4,300+VAT. Both are illustrations, not quotes.

Is crew included in studio hire?

No. Room hire includes the house lighting and grip. Crew is booked on top, from £350+VAT a day for a spark up to £750+VAT for a director.

What makes a corporate video cost more?

Script changes on the day, extra locations, animation, licensed music, extra versions and rounds of approval. Each one adds crew time or editor time, which is where most of the money goes.
