The one-line answer
A produced episode is a finished, publishable show: recorded properly, edited for audio and video, cut into short-form clips, and delivered as files you can upload. Room hire is a room. The gap between them is a working day of someone else's time, which is why the two prices look close and are not.
Before you arrive
A short planning call: who is on the show, the running order, what the clips need to do afterwards, what the graphics look like. The room is set for your format (interview, panel, solo or full production) before you walk in, so recording starts on time.
On the day
- Up to 90 minutes of recording in the 4.5m by 4.5m treated room. Long enough for a proper conversation with a false start or two.
- Three 4K cameras: wide, and a tight on each side of the table, recorded individually so the edit can cut between them.
- Studio microphones on every seat and a multitrack recording, so one person's cough does not live on everyone's track.
- An engineer who sets up, monitors levels and framing throughout, and hands over clean files. You never touch a fader.
- A producer who keeps the running order, notes the timecodes of the good moments as they happen, and tells you when a take is worth doing again.
After you leave
- The audio edit: levels, noise, ums and the two minutes where the conversation went nowhere, removed. Mastered to podcast loudness.
- The video edit: the three angles cut to the conversation, titles and lower thirds, your branding.
- Thirty short-form cuts, vertical and captioned, chosen from the producer's notes. This is the part most people underestimate: it is a month of social content from one sitting.
- Files within five working days, plus the raw multitrack if you want it.
What it costs
The Classic package is £395+VAT per recorded episode. If you want the room and an engineer by the hour without the edit, the Solo rate is from £108+VAT an hour. Both, and the series and launch packages, are on podcast.granary.digital.

What is the difference between studio hire and a produced episode?
Hire gives you the room and an engineer by the hour, from £108+VAT. A produced episode adds a producer on the day and everything afterwards: the edits, the clips and the delivery.
