Image and video licensing
Who owns the photography and film published on this site, what you may use, and how to licence it.
The short version
The photographs and films published on granary.digital are the property of Granary Digital. They are published so you can see the studio and judge the work. They are not stock, and they are not free to reuse.
If you want to use one, ask. We are reasonable, and most sensible requests get a yes.
How to request a licence
Email studio@granary.digital with:
- The address of the page and the image or film you want
- Where it will appear, in print, online or in broadcast
- How long you need it for, and in which countries
- Whether the use is editorial or commercial
We will come back with terms and a price, or tell you it is fine to use with a credit. We aim to answer within one working day.
Credit
Where a licence is granted, please credit Granary Digital and, where the format allows, link to granary.digital.
Press and media
Writing about the studio? Ask for the press pack. It contains approved, correctly sized images cleared for editorial use, which is quicker for you than pulling images off a web page.
Client work
Photography and film produced for a client on a booking is governed by that booking agreement, not by this page. If your project needs specific usage rights, raise it before the shoot so it can be written into the quote.
A note on the imagery here
Some images on this site are concept visuals created to show how a space can be used, rather than photographs of a specific past job. Where an image represents a scenario rather than a delivered project, we say so when asked. Ask if you need to know which is which.
Questions we get asked
Can I reuse an image from this website?
Not without a licence. The photography and film published here belong to Granary Digital and are not free to reuse. Email studio@granary.digital with the image address and how you intend to use it and we will come back with terms.
Do journalists need a licence?
For editorial coverage of Granary Digital we can usually supply approved press images free of charge, with a credit. Ask and we will send a press pack rather than you lifting one from the page.
Who owns the photographs from my own shoot?
That is covered by your booking agreement, not this page. Usage on client work is agreed per job, so ask before the shoot if you need particular rights.
What does a licence cost?
It depends on where the image runs, for how long and in what territory. Editorial use is usually straightforward. Commercial and advertising use is quoted per case.
