Christmas photoshoots at the barn: four weekends, twenty minutes each
A dressed Christmas set inside the White Space, £95 including VAT for twenty minutes and six edited pictures. Four weekends, from 14 November to 6 December, with the photos back in time for the cards.
This year we're building a Christmas set in the White Space, the infinity cove inside our 16th-century barn at Adsdean, and opening the doors to families for four weekends in November and December.
The set
It sits on a low oak platform on the cove: a lit tree, a cream fireplace with a garland and three knitted stockings, a tan leather armchair, a sheepskin rug and a pile of presents wrapped in brown paper. Building and dressing sets is ordinary work here. Our construction team has put up a cottage interior on this same floor for a Channel 4 drama, so a fireplace and an armchair are well within its range.
How you use it is up to you. The armchair suits a grandparent or a couple, the rug suits whoever is smallest, and the whole thing is meant to look like a front room at Christmas.
Why the weather makes no difference
The barn has no windows. In November that turns out to be a kindness: every bit of light comes off a lamp, so four o'clock looks exactly like eleven and a grey, wet Saturday makes no difference to the pictures. Studio lights do the work a winter afternoon won't, so the set looks warm whatever it's doing outside. The set is indoors, the parking is outside the door, and nobody has to stand in a field in their best jumper. If you're curious why a studio would choose a building like that, we explain it here.
What it costs
£95 inc VAT for a twenty-minute session and six edited images. If you can't choose six, the full gallery is £45 more. The prices include VAT because families book as individuals, the same as our actor headshots.

- Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November
- Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December
The photos come back in time for Christmas cards and presents.
Who it suits
Families, grandparents, brothers and sisters, couples. Twenty minutes is long enough to get past the stiff first few frames and short enough that nobody under five starts negotiating. Bringing the dog? Ask us when you book.
